Every Bottom Covered is a diaper bank in Buffalo, NY. A diaper bank is similar to a food bank because we distribute diapers and not food. It is the first of its kind in the city. It will distribute diapers directly and partner with organizations that have like-minded missions to assist low-income families in Buffalo, NY.
Every Bottom Covered addresses diaper need in Western New York. By providing diapers, wipes, and other baby needs to families and building partnerships for other organizations working toward the greater good, Every Bottom Covered helps address an unmet need and raise awareness of those costs included in community, city, and state funding decisions.
What defines diaper need? Diaper need lacks a sufficient supply of diapers to remain clean, dry, and healthy.
What are the consequences of diaper need? One in three families suffers from diaper need in the U.S. Based on present funding in NYS and many other areas in the United States, families cannot purchase diapers with food stamps. Babies who remain too long in a soiled diaper are exposed to increased health risks and concerns. Diaper need creates additional stress and worries for the family as well. Even in free and subsidized facilities, most child care centers require parents to provide a day’s supply of disposable diapers. Therefore, many parents cannot go to work or school if they cannot leave their babies in child care.
Why is Every Bottom Covered a diaper bank and how does it addresses diaper need and raise its importance?
